Boys Basketball continues hot streak following their wins at Districts and Regionals
After two hard-fought games, the ELHS boys basketball team moves on to the quarter-finals after beating Kalamazoo and Battle Creek Central.
District finals summary:Throughout the game, both teams fought back and forth for the lead. The first half went by quickly, lasting only 30 minutes. Dorij’an Jackson (12) helped tie down the defense with Jace Clarizio (10). The score was 22-20 at halftime, and the Trojans led early after Cameron Hutson (10) made three three-pointers. Kalamazoo takes back the lead in the forth, but the Trojans tie it up with Cameron Essell’s (10) three point shot with five seconds to go. The Trojans went into a heated overtime, where Jace Clarizio (10) secured the win with some late game scoring. The final score was 51-47.
Regional finals summary: The Trojans held a steady lead, keeping over a ten point advantage for most of the game. The Trojans scored early in the first, helped by Christian Dunn (11) with some quick layups. Cameron Hutson’s (10) help finish off the half with a score of 28-17. The Trojans lead for the rest of the second half, maintaining their energy and finishing strong with a final score of 56-43.
The teams next game is this Tuesday, where the Trojans will be taking on Muskegon in the quater-finals, with a win garting a following game at the Breslin Center.
